They may be able to redeem a UK State Pension when they retire.

UK pension changes coming soon so they need to take action.

Up to to March 2023 only, they can buy back up to 15 years pension rights at very little cost. After that they can only go back 7 years, limiting their ability to claim full State Pension rights.
