Autism & Play

A course designed for teachers in the  Junior Infants to 2nd classes in mainstream schools and teachers of older learners with developmental delays within specialist settings.

The course will 

• Provide teachers with a core understanding of autism and common difficulties in the early years.
• Examine the barriers to learning which children with autism experience in navigating the play-based curriculum.
• Explore a range of evidence-based approaches which underpin planned interventions by teachers.
• Support teachers to address the needs of young children with autism in the mainstream class, special class or special school setting.
