This seminar will provide a brief overview of ASD and where HFA resides within the spectrum. It will provide background information to further the participants’ knowledge of ASD and how to support students with HFA. The seminar will look at supports at each stage of the continuum of support. It will provide information on sensory integration, social skills (including foundation skills for gaining access to RSE) and informational assessment to gain a baseline of strengths and needs.Michele has worked as a teacher in primary schools, special schools and an ASD class. Michele was also seconded, as an Advisor to the SESS for a number of years. Michele now works as a lecturer in Mary Immaculate College in the Department of Educational, Psychology, Inclusive & Special Education. Her main areas of expertise are ASD and Inclusion.
