Make a Movie

Make a Movie Project 2020-2021

The aim of this practical project is to introduce and promote filmmaking and animation as a fun, creative and child-centred way to respond to the new school year and the new normal in schools.

Film making is an excellent way to integrate many subjects in the curriculum simultaneously. It offers the opportunity to enhance literacy skills, while promoting creativity, responsibility, individualism and co-operation in children and can be an excellent assessment resource for schools in these challenging times, as it can be used individually, in pods, or groups.

Participating in this project is a fun and innovative way to help children to learn in a child-led, discovery learning setting which they can complete in school or at home in a safe environment using the resources available to them.

The series of pre-recorded webinars will introduce all aspects of the filmmaking and animation process; outlining the simple and effective use of filmmaking and provide a clear step by step approach to film making for both children and educators alike.

The project provides teachers with the chance to upskill and engage in CPD, while also providing them with the opportunity to share these with their classes. Movies can be project-based or theme-based depending on current work from school or other stimuli which can be chosen by school or by students.

The webinars are available as YouTube links and will be available for all. Pre-recorded webinars also mean participants can pause the recordings and engage with them at their own leisure.
