Flipped Classroom is a learning approach that reverses the traditional
learning environment. Students engage with content during out of class
time (eg. pre-recorded videos), then engage further with this content
during class time. This facilitates deeper learning of the material during
class time, whereby there are increased opportunities to engage in
conversations around the material and explore it more deeply. With
the Flipped Classroom, students have direct access to the
knowledge, with the teacher serving as the coach and mentor.
This course entails two sessions which will;
·Explore ways to create digital content to support he flipped classroom approach.
·Support teachers in planning for, creating, storing and disseminating effective
·Understand how the flipped classroom can be integrated with effective formative
·Identify how the flipped classroom can support the development of students’ key skills
and can support differentiation and personalised learning.
·Facilitate teachers to reflect upon their practice and rethink their approach to teaching,
learning and assessment
