2026 Kangaroo International Mathematics Competition

The Kangaroo Mathematics Competition started in 1991 and it is the largest Mathematics competition in the world, with more than 7 million participants per year, from 92 countries. The objectives of the Competition are:

  • To expand and encourage mathematical knowledge
  • To contribute to improving Mathematics teaching at all levels
  • To introduce students to interesting sections of mathematics
  • To develop students' ability to obtain pleasure and satisfaction through intellectual challenges.
  • To develop critical thinking and outside of the box thinking.

It is offered in the Republic of Ireland for the following classes:
Primary - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th Classes
Post Primary - 1st Year, 2nd Year, 3rd Year, 4th Year, 5th Year, 6th Year

This is a global event and it allows your students to compete with the best students in your country and the world.

How much does it cost?
It will cost €5 per student for 1-5 students, €2 per student for 6-40 students and it is then capped at €80 for a whole school of 41 and above students.  So if you have only 24 students writing then it will cost €48.  But if there are between 41 -10000 students taking part then it will only cost the school €80.
