Happy Christmas To You All and Every Good Wish and Success For The New Year 2026

Happy Christmas To You All and Every Good Wish and Success For The New Year 2026

Dear Principal/Teacher,

2025 has been a momentous year for the Donegal Education Support Centre, marked by our relocation to new premises at Glenview Business Park, Letterkenny. The new Centre is a bright, modern space, featuring large conference rooms, state-of-the-art flatscreen interactive panels, and high-speed fibre broadband to support all of our courses and professional needs. Please feel free to explore our website for more details.

Our new location is very centrally located, with the majority of Donegal schools within an hour’s drive. This has significantly enhanced our ability to offer a broader range of courses, foster connections with schools, and collaborate more effectively with all our stakeholders, including the ETB, ATU, NCSE, Oide, HSE and many others.

I would like to extend a special thank you to the management committee and particular to the Chairperson, Mr. Martin Gallagher, for their ongoing dedication and commitment throughout the year. While we are thrilled that Dympna Barrett continues to serve as our Irish Translator, I’d also like to warmly welcome several new, highly experienced and professional members to our team Frank Wellwood (Centre Administrator), Mary McHugh (Administrator), Margaret Molloy (Accounts Manager) and Vanessa Russell (Housekeeper)

Since September, we’ve welcomed hundreds of Principals, teachers, SNAs, and other school personnel to our new Centre for professional learning days. It has also been fantastic to see the rise in local face-to-face courses, as well as the arrival of new local tutors who have facilitated a series of brilliant workshops and webinars. Your contributions are greatly appreciated, and we are excited to build on this momentum heading into 2026 and to continue to provide for all our schools a wide range of subjects and topics to cater to your professional development needs.

Thank you also to the many schools involved in the Arts in Education programme, as well as initiatives like VEX Robotics, Active Schools Programme, Concern Debates, Fichaell, Something Fishy, Scriobh Leabhar, Tus Maith Transition Programme, and many more. It is truly inspiring to see schools engaging with new projects such as Muinín (Community of Practice for middle leaders), the Learning Schools Project, Saibhriú, and The Dánlann Project.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all Donegal schools for your ongoing engagement and support over the past few months. I wish you, your school community, and all your students a very peaceful and joyful Christmas, and every best wish for a successful 2026.

Warm regards,

Kieran Mc Taggart
